“When a serious illness strikes, you start to look at life from a new perspective. What is time and where does it go?” Tunneli (The Tunnel) is a short documentary directed by Sakari Suuronen. We shot the film over a year ago in about two weeks during the winter season. Because of the tense subject, filming abstract imagery was needed. I used Canon 7D to capture the film and used an old Russian tilt&shift lens in some episodes to give the story a subjective feeling.
The film has got a wide audience through international film festivals and got a Special Jury Award at the Reikäreuna Film Festival in September. Tunneli was also selected for Tampere Film Festival and got into the festival’s “Best from Finland” DVD release.
