Just got back home from Äkäslompolo, Lapland. We were shooting the opening sequence for the second season of the documentary series “Ylläs – Huipulla tuulee”. Our crew was just me and the director Mika Kurvinen. What a combo! We shot with RED One MX equipped with RED zooms and a Lensbaby. Mixing recording formats from 2K to 4.5K and variable frame rates up to 120 fps we established area of Ylläs fjeld from ground to sky. Despite of the arctic weather at its worst (-30 Celcius) and high winds, we managed to shoot continuously without any camera (or human related!) faults. Have to say, one of the coolest projects in a long time. Amazing scenery to capture!
